A Week Full of Smile!

The last week was a special week for me. In my locality, there is a dark jungle which is very much protected by the local authorities. Last week, they have started a program to make people aware of the wildlife and its benefits. For this, they have started a wildlife camp, where by paying smaller fees you are allowed to stay in the tent created inside the jungle. I enjoyed the trip, with my family. I took the offer for the whole week. I took leave from office, took my family along with me and occupied a tent inside jungle. The day time was enjoyable but the most unforgettable part was the night time. A bit of fear and a bit of excitement, I enjoyed the week like anything!

I am not at all happy the way, people all over this world is thinking about other peoples. It seems that people now-a-days finding an excuse to hate each other. All the problems of today’s world, be it terrorism or racism, all are the end result of the human thinking process. Given a chance, I will change this. I will create a phenomenon in human brain, which distracts every negative thought that came with a hatred feeling.

The sound of a sewing machine is one of the best sounds in the world to me. I love to sew. I make dolls, costumes, shirts, dresses, coats, bags, stuffed animals, anything I can find or make a pattern for. I’ve been sewing since I was very little, but only in the last couple of years have I started making my own patterns. Making the first cut in the fabric is always terrifying, followed by the first line of stitching. It’s always worth it when the shape of what’s being made first peeks through the thread and fabric though. It’s almost better than when it’s done, even, because I’m not so exhausted and I can still enjoy working the machine!

Over The Bridge

November 8th, 2011 | Lifestyle | No Comments »

Every couple years my family makes a thirteen-hour trip to Kansas City, Missouri. I’ve never been any farther away from home. We go there because my most of my mom’s family lives in that area, and the rest of the gang all likes to visit together for a spectacular reunion. We get together with various parts of the family and everyone brings a special dish to pass, or we’ll go out and eat a whole restaurant out of food. The next day we’ll all meet up downtown to shop and devastate a Cold Stone Creamery or fill up half a movie theater. Then we’ll visit a couple of the family farms, see the recluses who wouldn’t join us while we were out, and throw another giant dinner party. Then it’s back east, over the Mississippi bridge, leaving Great-Grandmother’s house behind.

If I had $1000 to spend at one store, I’d take that money straight to my favorite used book store and buy as many books as I could grab. There are books there I hadn’t dreamed existed, books over a hundred years old, new books with the plastic wrap still on and books with powdery old pages. If there was something I wanted that wasn’t there, the owner would gladly order it for me. He’d help point out books I might be interested in, or ones that would make good gifts. Even with books priced between one and ten dollars, I’d spend up my shopping spree like nothing! I’d be happy to do it at the used book store though, because there’s not a better person than the owner to spend it with.
